To my husband on our third anniversary,
Three years ago today, on a beautiful and quiet April morning, I woke up as giddy as could be. It was our wedding day. A crisp spring morning filled with so much hope for the future and surrounded by so much love. Family and friends traveled miles and miles to come stand with us while we promised forever to one another.
Although our life together was only just beginning, we felt like we could conquer the world. We have been blessed beyond belief. We have so many friends and family members cheering us on, supporting us as we carve out our own path – different, but so much better than we could’ve ever imagined.
I’m proud of us. I’m proud of the work we’ve put in. I’m proud of the steadfast persistence and unwillingness to be mediocre. I’m proud of the friendship we’ve found within each other. And I’m thankful for you – for your loving and compassionate heart. I’m thankful for the changes we’ve made that have molded our marriage into what it is today, in this very moment. I’m so thankful.
Happy anniversary, Catlin Andrew. If this is what a glimmer of our life together looks like, I’m eager to see the rest! Here’s to many more!
