Trevor + Serena | Lincoln, Nebraska Wedding

This. Is. Happiness.

1 Corinthians 13: 4 -8

4 Love is patient. So were they. Love is kind. Pandemics are not.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Even during a pandemic and election year.

We met these two what feels like decades ago. They booked us in early 2019 for their 2020 wedding and by the time this beautiful day finally happened, it felt like we’d been friends for years. Serena and Trevor waited patiently as the world crumbled around them, knowing that their wedding would one day come and that it would be worth the wait.

8 Love never fails.

Ever. No matter what life throws at this kind of love and happiness, it does not fail.

Serena looked amazing. Her dress was gorgeous. She has such natural beauty and kind face.

But don’t let that fool you. 😉

She’s got sass.

The best kind. The kind that makes you think, you go girl. The kind that cracks you up. The kind that can handle the orneriness of a guy like Trevor.

Oh, Trevor. He looked pretty dapper. His entourage followed suit. Yes, entourage. I mean, he’s like 6′ 7″ so he’s naturally a leader. He stands above the crowd.

The way he smirks as his gorgeous bride makes ya wonder if they’ve been together so long they can read each other’s minds.

They. Are. Happiness.

Serena + Trevor, usually I blog weddings in a way that describes the day in some romanticized fairytale that you might read in a story book.

You have that. You ARE that. I can only imagine the sweet moments you share, the inside jokes, the teases, the laughs, the secret looks.

But when I think of your wedding day, while absolutely beautiful, I can’t help but remember the feeling I had as one of your guests. The way you shared the day with everyone around you. The welcome feeling we had as we watched you celebrate every moment if your big day with your friends and family right by your side. The way you joked and laughed in the face of a pandemic, postponements, hand sani and mask mandates. You made getting engaged and married in a pandemic look like a walk on the beach.

And that’s how I wanted to honor you tonight. To match your sass and orneriness with some of own. 😉 To raise a glass and join you in saying, ta-ta rona. Hello happiness.

You have the most beautiful daughter that exudes love in human flesh. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the three of you.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Your journey. Your story.

We wish you all the best life has to offer. Happily ever always.
